 33RD ANNUAL RINCON CLASSIC JEFF WHITE ALOHA AWARD/ LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT Created by legendary wood worker Skip Saenger the Jeff White Aloha Award recognizes an individual whose community spirit and life path have shared Aloha within our community. The JWAA is a perpetual trophy where honorees’ names are added annually.

The contributions of Al and Terry Merrick to the local surfing community are immeasurable. What began as a grass roots mom and pop surf shop and board operation evolved into an industry icon with humble roots here in Santa Barbara, California. The foundation of the Channel Islands surfboards brand has always focused on family, community, and creating the most high performance surfboards on the planet. The times have evolved, but the feeling of family and community are the same as evidenced by the amazing team of local men and women that are extensions of Al and Terry, including their son Britt Merrick who help guide the brand, shape the boards, and mentor the youth to this day.
